Computed for a resident individual below 60 years of age. The standard deduction is applied only where you indicate salaried income. Under the old regime, Section 80C is capped at ₹1,50,000, 80D at ₹1,00,000, and self-occupied home loan interest at ₹2,00,000.
Surcharge is applied on the slab bands but marginal relief is not modelled, and incomes taxed at special rates — capital gains, lottery winnings and the like — are outside its scope.
